Last updated: October 4, 2025
This Tax Policy explains how sales tax is handled for purchases made on Garderion when the shipping address is located within the United States. It describes when and how sales tax is collected, how it appears at checkout, and what to do for tax-related questions or refunds.
We collect sales tax on orders shipped to addresses in U.S. states where Garderion has a sales tax obligation (“nexus”). Nexus may be created by:
Having a physical presence
Using a third-party warehouse
Marketplace facilitator requirements
Other activities as defined by state law
If your shipping address is in a state where sales tax applies, the appropriate state and local sales tax will be calculated and added to your order at checkout.
Sales tax is calculated based on your shipping address and applicable state and local tax rates at the time of purchase.
The tax amount is displayed separately in your shopping cart and on the checkout page before you complete payment.
Product prices on our site do not include sales tax; tax is shown during checkout.
If you purchase items fulfilled by a third-party seller or marketplace facilitator via our store, the marketplace may be responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax.
Sales tax will still appear at checkout
Collection is handled according to the marketplace’s policy
If you are exempt from sales tax (e.g., resale certificate or other valid exemption), you must provide a valid exemption certificate to Garderion prior to purchase.
Certificates are reviewed and accepted at our discretion in accordance with state regulations.
To submit an exemption certificate, email tax@garderion.com with a scanned copy of your certificate and order details.
If you return an item and receive a refund, the sales tax portion of the returned merchandise will be refunded according to applicable state law once the return is approved.
Tax refunds will be issued to your original payment method or as store credit, depending on the circumstances and state rules.
If your order ships to a state where sales tax was not collected, you may still be responsible for paying use tax directly to your state tax authority.
This policy does not remove your obligation to comply with local and state tax laws.
An itemized invoice showing the sales tax charged is included with your order confirmation email and available in your account order history.
For additional tax documentation for accounting or tax filings, contact tax@garderion.com and include your order number and request.
Garderion may update this Tax Policy to reflect changes in tax laws or business practices.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised for changes.
Significant updates may be communicated via email.

Tax policy refers to the guidelines and rules that govern how taxes are levied, collected, and managed in the United States. It encompasses tax rates, exemptions, and deductions that affect individuals and businesses. Because tax policy can be complex and varies from state to state, many citizens often find it challenging to understand how it impacts their finances. Therefore, it is essential to stay informed about the different types of taxes, such as income tax and sales tax, to make sound financial decisions.
Tax policy is crucial for funding government services and infrastructure. It plays a vital role in the economy by influencing consumer spending and investment. For example, when tax rates are lowered, individuals have more disposable income to spend and businesses can reinvest in growth. However, high taxes can discourage investment, making it essential to find a balance that sustains public services without overburdening taxpayers. This balance is often a topic of heated debate among policymakers.
Tax policy directly impacts both individuals and businesses. For individuals, variations in tax rates and available deductions can significantly affect take-home pay. Furthermore, businesses rely on tax policy to determine their potential profitability and growth strategies. Therefore, understanding how tax policies are implemented and modified can help individuals and businesses make informed choices about spending and investment. In conclusion, staying updated on tax policies is crucial for effective financial planning.
